- Gateway
to Coorong National Park, the mighty Murray river and lakes system
- Enjoy
the steam powered 'Cockle train' running between Goolwa, Port Elliott
and victor Harbour, or even a horse drawn tram
- During
summer, people are drawn to long golden stretches of sand to catch a
seabreeze, great surfing and fishing opportunities, and from June to
October winter whale watching.
- Make
time to visit Hindmarsh Island and stand at the point where Australia's
most important waterway, the Murray River, finally meets the sea.
- The
wines and produce of the Fleurieu Peninsula are well established in
the hearts of gourmet lovers. Collectively there are over sixty cellar
door experiences.
- Eat
out if you wish. Very good local hotel meals, restaurant and Café
eating and a variety of excellent local bakeries. Our personal favourites
are a light lunch at the whistlestop Café in Goolwa, breakfast
or lunch at the Flying Fish Café in Port Elliot, or a quick trip
to Hindmarsh Island for the “best” hamburger at Rankins Landing.
- The
bike track now extends all the way to Goolwa from Victor Harbor for
those who enjoy a “Sunday Pedal”.
- For
those with a Four Wheel drive vechile available, the drive to the Murray
Mouth is not to be missed.
- At
any given time there are always a number of activities to share:
- Swimming
or Surfing at Goolwa Beach
- Sailing,
Cruising or Windsurfing on the Waterways
- Pelican
or Birdwatching
- Rod
Fishing in the reeds or Cockling at the beach
- 18
Hole golf courses at Goolwa and Victor Harbor
- Country
Football
- Local
Wine Tasting
- Country
Markets and Craft Shows
- Cockle
train Rides…………………..just to name a few
Or
forget all of the above, and relax with a book or just watching TV. Sit
back and relax with a glass in hand and watch the birds taking off.
An absolutely stunning view!

to do and all weekend to do it in!”
